The Watcher loaded up Delphin and Ichika’s household to find them autonomously doing this, along with these Wants…
It seems Sandy may be getting a younger sibling much sooner than the Watcher had intended.
The Watcher had missed this little one so much.
Her face is so expressive!
With Sandy actually in bed at a reasonable hour, Delphin and Ichika sat down to watch the premiere of a new TV show.
Apparently it wasn’t that interesting, because within five minutes they’d both resorted to playing games on their phones.
Hopefully they were at least playing something together!
The Watcher: Omg I’m so excited to play in sunny Tartosa again.
The game: ha ha ha
The storm eventually cleared up, and Sandy finally managed to enjoy a beach trip without her Sensitive trait leaving her overwhelmed.
She also learnt to crawl there too.
It was pretty special.
Something else happened while they were at the beach too.
It became clear to Ichika that her and Delphin’s autonomous woohoo the other day had been rather fruitful…
Delphin paid a visit to Sulani to see his mum, Nalani.
It had been a while.
“I’m sorry we don’t visit more often, mum. Life is pretty crazy at the moment. Sandy is perfect, but such hard work… and now with another one on the way…”
“I understand, Delphin.”
“And you know we’d love for you to come stay, but we barely have enough room in our bungalow as it is.”
“Hmm… perhaps it’s time to upsize, darling. I’d love for you to move back to Sulani, but the Watcher won’t allow it. Surely there’s a big Tartosian villa out there desperate for some TLC, though.”
It’s as if Nalani read the Watcher’s mind…
“A new baby AND a new home… that sounds pretty hectic, mum. I imagine I’d get to see even less of you!”
“Not if you decided to ask Grandma Nalani to come and live with you… y’know, just while you need the extra help.”
Following Delphin’s excitable agreeability at the prospect, Nalani quickly became excited to come and live with her grandchildren.
There is nothing she enjoys more than spending time with little Sandy, and she is sure it’ll be the same with her next grandchild too.
The love of a grandmother!
Nalani is definitely making up for the fact she never got to see her own kids as Infants.
While in Sulani, the Watcher thought he might as well take a shot of Delphin’s oft forgotten brother, Merwyn.
Also pictured is Nalani’s longtime boyfriend Duane, who decided to try and come on to a heavily pregnant Ichika…
Time for Betsy to come over and take out the trash again. Or perhaps it's time to revive Nancy’s old cowplant. Poor Nalani, she doesn’t deserve these plum-holes.
Apparently word has got around that Nalani is joining the household, because now every other relative suddenly wants in on the action.
Ichika literally laughed her sister Akira out the door when she turned up just to ask this. A bit savage, but there’s no more room… sorry!
It seems unexpected visitors were becoming a frequent occurrence for the Kattan household.
One day, Delphin arrived home to find Dolly waiting impatiently outside his house.
“I could really use a friend right now Delphin.”
Without asking any questions, Delphin took them straight to the local eatery for some lunch.
“Look, Delphin. I really messed up. I….”
“Dolly, if I’m honest… I think it best I remain oblivious to whatever is surely going on in your Coven these days. Let me just be here for you as a friend and cousin, away from all that.”
Delphin could tell something troubled Dolly, but perhaps selfishly he preferred to remain detached from all the Landgraab drama. It had done enough damage to his family, and he didn’t want to be forced to pick sides, either.
“Oh…okay. That’d actually be nice… I guess.”
“Let me be a distraction for you. I miss you, Dolly. We don’t spend nearly enough time together these days.”
The pair spent a lovely afternoon together after that, and it did Dolly more good than she realised to take a break from thinking about the drama in her life.
Some days later, it was time for the Kattan household’s newest family member to arrive…
“Um, Delphin… babe. Wake up. Baby number two is on his way.”
As is often the case in this Watcher’s game, the new baby was born in all the glamour and comfort of a bathroom.
Welcome, little Finnick Kattan!
His name is derived from the word ‘fin’, as a nod to his mermaid heritage. It is also a tribute to one of the Watcher’s favourite book characters - Finnick from The Hunger Games.
Not one to be upstaged, Sandy ensured she got in a huge milestone immediately after her brother entered the world.
“N-n-no one saw mwe? Where wiz evvywun?”
With the family now two members bigger (Grandma Nalani has officially moved in now too), it was time to move somewhere more spacious.
As per Nalani’s suggestion, they found an old villa in the more rural area of Tartosa. It had been sat empty for quite a while, so they managed to wrangle a good deal on it (it formerly belonged to Daisy).
(this build is one of Devon Bumpkin’s - renovated and heavily expanded by the Watcher to add, amongst other things, an additional two bedrooms).
Immediately upon moving into their new (now multi-generational) villa, Nalani rung up her boss and quit her job.
“Uh, yeah…. I’ll be too busy spending time with my adorable grandchildren to bother coming into work anymore. Sorry ‘bout it.”
Ichika loves her new office setup.
She works exclusively as a freelance programmer now.
It provides her with the work-life balance she needs these days!
While Nalani acclimatised to the waters of Tartosa, Delphin took Sandy for a stroll around the neighbourhood.
This had become a rather typical morning routine for the Kattan household, but today wasn’t just any old day. Oh no, for it was Sandy’s birthday!
She’s about to become a Toddler!
Delphin and Sandy stumbled upon a familiar, but unexpected, face on their walk.
“Johnny! What are you doing all the way out here in Tartosa?”
“Uh… good question. I have no idea. I guess I’m just really early for this evening’s birthday party!”
Cuteness ensued.
Sandy’s party took place that evening.
“Are you ready to become a big(ger) girl now, baby?”
“Umm… nwo Daddy.”
“Aw, c’mon Sandy. It’ll be fun. The Watcher feels just as apprehensive as you, but you had to stop being an Infant eventually.”
And here she is - still super adorable as a toddler!
She rolled the Inquisitive trait, and also earned the Top Notch Infant trait too.
She’s certainly off to a good start in life!
As the party came to an end, Nalani caught up with her dearest friend Greta out on the porch.
“So how are you finding your new life out here with the grandkids?” asked Greta.
“It’s amazing, and couldn’t have come at a better time too… y’know, after finding out my boyfriend Duane is actually a total sleaze.”
“Ah yes… I was so sorry to hear about that, but don’t worry… I’m sure the Watcher has something in store for him eventually.”
A few days later, Delphin and Ichika managed to find time for a much needed date night.
They had dinner and drinks at their favourite wine bar, and ended the night with a romantic kiss by the ocean.
Well, this would’ve been the perfect end to the night, but…
As the couple embraced on the bridge, Delphin had suddenly noticed a familiar figure attempting to stealthily sneak past them.
“Hey! Duane. You’ve got quite the nerve showing up here. Haven’t you at least got the decency to stay out of Tartosa? My mother moved to a new world for a reason.”
Delphin felt a rage burning up within him. It took a lot to rile him up, but seeing the scumbag who had taken his mother for a fool would certainly do it.
Duane merely returned him with a blank, remorseless expression, which angered Delphin even further.
“I guess you haven’t got a decent pixel in your body. I shouldn’t be surprised. Well, I know a couple of Landgraab witches who’d love to make a trashcan out of you… or worse. So go on… disappear for good.”
Delphin stormed off after that. He hoped Duane would heed his words, for the man’s own sake.
Speaking of the Landgraabs, things had been fairly harmonious back in San Sequoia.
Although, ever since Nancy had aged up with new Evil trait, she’s had this disturbing ability to look menacing when performing literally ANY action.
Is she plotting to destroy the Simverse, or just playing Sims Forever…?
With their baby nearly here, Betsy & Sul Sul began wondering how Nancy would react to the new addition.
“It worries me a little that she’ll be around our kid, Betsy. She’s hardly the best influence…”
“I know… but this is the new Nancy. Perhaps she’ll be a great sibling…”
“A sibling? Betsy, are we really going to raise our child to be siblings with her great-grandmother?”
The pair shared an awkward look, and quickly agreed to finish this conversation another time instead.
It was a topic neither of them liked to discuss.
Betsy thought it best to check in with Nancy, to see how she’s feeling about the impending baby.
“So Nancy, did you want to talk at all about the arrival of our new family member? It’s not long now.”
“Oh, that’s still happening? Dang it. I still get to keep my own room though, right?”
In truth, Nancy wasn’t particularly looking forward to having another child around the house.
She didn’t like the idea of having to compete with anyone for attention.
(the wording of this moodlet omg )
To cheer Nancy up, Betsy spent much of the weekend trying to teach her to ride a bike (again).
Turns out Nancy doesn’t like putting this much effort into something, though.
“Bettttsssyyy, this is TOO HARD. Why should I bother learning this when I can just teleport everywhere anyway?”
“So Nancy, I have to go to work now, but do you maybe want to feel the baby before I go…?”
“Uhh… no.”
“Oh c’mon, they want to meet you. Don’t you want to say hi?”
*Nancy mumbles to herself as she reluctantly touches the belly*
To her own surprise, Nancy was fascinated to feel the baby bump.
“Wow… I can’t believe they are just… like… chilling inside your belly. So, is that where I came from too?”
*Betsy dies at the question*
“Errm… no Nancy. Remember, I’m not your mum… Just your Betsy.”
Betsy’s due date was fast approaching, and so Sul Sul began the morning at the gym with his friend Merwyn, Delphin’s brother (the Watcher feels the need to clarify that all the time, because he’s so rarely in the story ha ha).
He was starting to feel a bit overwhelmed about the imminent arrival of fatherhood, and thought a workout might help calm his nerves.
Sul Sul’s pre-parental nerves persisted throughout the day, and to avoid them turning into a full blown panic, he opted to hit the bar with the other legacy guys.
“Is it normal to feel this scared?”
“Oh, absolutely,” laughed Delphin. “I was a mess before Sandy arrived, but it’ll all be fine. I promise.”
Several drinks later, Sul Sul found himself stumbling home.
“I’m soooo happy Betsy,” slurred Sul Sul. “My gorgeous, gorrrrgeous Betsy. I cannot wait for our baby to arrive… even if they are going to be raised alongside Satan herself.”
“Wow, looks like all that nectar really helped with your nerves, huh? Now c’mon, I heard woohoo is a good way to induce labour.”
And just like that - by the emergence of dawn, there was a new addition to the family.
Meet Queenie Landgraab - our Gen 4 Landgraab heir!
She’s named after her great-great-grandmother.
Sul Sul was definitely regretting his decision to go out the night before… (he’s overjoyed, really!).
This was Nancy as soon as she woke up and saw Queenie had been born…
This girl and her dramatics… Is she not happy to be a great grandma?
Betsy barely left Queenie’s side on that first day. She was enamoured by her new love, and even felt inspired to begin painting for the eventual nursery.
When the baby was left alone, however, Nancy decided to finally steal a moment with her…
“Hmm…. so here you are…”
It came as a shock to the Watcher, but Nancy then proceeded to actually try and entertain little Queenie with some silly facial expressions.
*Queenie giggles in response*
“Oh… you thought that was funny? Just wait until you see my dance moves!”
And then, Nancy perched herself down to actually play with her!
“I guess you aren’t so bad, really. I mean, all you do is lay there. How much competition can you be? I dunno why you’re called Queenie though… I’m the queen of this family, but you’ll learn that soon enough.”
Queenie’s arrival actually seemed to bring out a different, more relaxed side of Nancy.
For a time, at least.
Brainfreeeeeeeze!
See, look how wholesome she’s being?
Evil? Surely not!
But, whilst Nancy had appeared to develop a greater tolerance (even, love?!) for her fellow Landgraabs, she still enjoyed terrorising every other Sim at any opportunity she could get.
“Thanks for inviting me over, Nancy!”
“Ew, no. Betsy made me do it. Now leave.”
“Oh… but I thought we were friends?!”
Nancy burst into (maniacal) laughter.
“Why would I want to be friends with a smelly Plant Sim like you?! Now LEAVE, before I poke you in the eye with one of my unnaturally pointy cheeks!”
Yes, Nancy really was a little neighbourhood menace, and it wasn’t long before she began to gain notoriety amongst all of the other children in the Save.
“Oh My Watcher!! What is wrong with you?! Why are you so MEAN?!”
“Its better to be feared, than loved.”
That’s what she would often mutter to herself, at least.
Living by such a philosophy can get mighty lonely though, even for someone like Nancy. She already couldn’t wait for Queenie to grow up... They'd be best friends, she just knew it!
Nancy would have to wait quite a while for Queenie to be old enough to be her friend, but she had now become an Infant, at least!
She is the CUTEST! And also the perfect combination of her parents, with Betsy’s purple eyes and Sul Sul’s dark hair.
She’s also the first non-blonde Landgraab - four generations in!
Sul Sul is such a doting dad. It’s so wholesome to see.
It hurts his heart to see Queenie cry though, bless him.
Betsy, on the other hand, was growing tired of the endless barrage of angry phone calls she would receive from the parents of kids Nancy had upset.
No amount of yoga would relieve this stress, and unfortunately for Betsy, the use of spells to ‘discipline’ children was prohibited by the Sage Council.
She knew she had to seek new ways to manage her grandmother…
“Do you mind popping over? I’m just having a bit of a Nancmergency, and could do with some guidance.”
“I’m a bit surprised you asked me of all people to come over and help with this. I explicitly told you I wouldn’t have any part in raising my mother when you foolishly chose to age her down... and plus, you pretty much raised yourself as a kid. You were a total angel… her on the other hand… I have no experience with managing a kid like that.”
“Oh c’mon, dad. You know her better than most. There’s gotta be ways to help steer her away from the darkness.”
Malcolm sighed.
“If you’d have asked me before you embarked on all this madness, I’d have told you this was a lost cause. Once evil, always evil. I should know. I take after her. Look… if you want a bit of help, I guess you can bring her to visit your mum and I every so often. It’ll at least give the neighbourhood kids a break.”
Betsy took her dad up on his offer, and visited her childhood home in Oasis Springs the next day.
It would be nice for little Queenie to bond with Grandpa Malcolm and Grandma Greta, in any case.
(LOOK HOW CUTE THIS BEBE IS)
Whilst everyone else was inside fawning over Queenie, Nancy wandered the garden alone.
It was then that she stumbled upon something very odd. A beast of some kind… long dead, but still terrifyingly ominous.
An earsplitting headache suddenly took ahold of her, and weird visions began circling her mind. Feelings akin to an odd sense of dejavu…
Nancy couldn’t understand what she was seeing.
Before her towered the same beast she had looked upon only a moment earlier, except now it was alive. It was a cow-patterned plant of some kind, and standing before it was a red headed man, clad in green swimming trunks…
He went to eat touch it, and then…. oh my Watcher, no!!
The visions stopped all at once, and Nancy collapsed unconscious to the floor.
