This is the story of Gen 2 of the Kattan-Landgraab legacy. I’d recommend reading the overview of Gen 1 first, if you haven’t already.

This is the first generation I played out on Twitter (for the most part!), and so the below is largely an archive of all my Tweets. I have added to the story in some places though, to both bulk it out and fill in some gaps in the story. The format therefore looks quite a bit different to the summary I wrote up for Gen 1, although more similar to what I am currently doing with Gen 3.

Gen 2 begins with Dadi as the Kattan heir, and just as the Legacy is becoming intertwined with that of the Landgraabs. There has been a bit of a time jump since the end of the Gen 1 summary, in which time the solemn passing of Yarin took place, and Dadi met and became engaged to a wonderful girl named Nalani. We join the family shortly before the wedding is due to take place.

No such thing as privacy when you’re a famous person. Geoffrey Landgraab, have you no dignity?

Tom is trying to mourn the terribly sad passing of his husband. The shorter lifespan the Watcher played with in these days was borderline evil.

The Kattan family are in Tartosa for Dadi & Nalani’s wedding.

Gianico brought his new boyfriend Johnny along, and romance seems to be in the air for everyone.

And yes, that’s Johnny Zest (herein enter the Landgraabs to my story!).

Just like that, Dadi and Nalani were married under the gorgeous Tartosa sun.

They’ve come a long way since they met in a chance meeting at a Henford pub one evening. Dadi was there playing his guitar for tips, as he so often did, when his dorky rockstar aura caught the eyes of the beautiful Nalani.

Tom was one proud father (and officiant).

The day after Dadi & Nalani’s wedding was a family beach day.

Tom was making the most of his last day with the boys before Grim likely comes to claim him tomorrow.

Nalani was feeling at home in the ocean.

Unfortunately the Tartosa vacation had to come to an end, and so the family returned to a snow-coated Kattan Estate.

The kitties were very happy to find out they hadn’t been completely abandoned.

sighs

R.I.P Tom. The time had to come eventually, though it was still odd for the Watcher to witness the death of his own Simself.

Tom lived a long and illustrious life, but inevitably couldn’t escape the cruel hand of Grim.

He joins Yarin in the forever save. May they rest peacefully in pixellated heaven together forever.

Following Tom’s death, Dadi & his new wife Nalani have decided to move to Sulani.

Nalani will be able to live more freely in her mermaid form there.

It will be a big change from Henford, though.

Beach vibes.

Gianico and Johnny have come to visit Dadi and Nalani in Sulani.

With the gorgeous weather and these spectacular views, it will hard for them to stay away!

Romance is very much in the air for these two. They’ve been dating a while now, and couldn’t be more into each other.

Johnny is nothing like the rest of his family (except perhaps sweet Geoffrey), though in recent years he has at least been able to reconcile with them and form some kind of familial relationship.

Despite this, he has no intention of adopting the Landgraab name again though.

After sunset, Gianico & Johnny swam to a nearby waterfall.

It was there that Gianico got down on one knee, and somewhere from within his tiny speedos pulled out a ring.

It seems romance really is in the air, and it certainly had nothing to do with the fact the Watcher was keen to get all of the weddings for this Gen out of the way already.

When you get engaged in front of a waterfall, there’s really only one way to celebrate.

The Watcher is utterly obsessed with these two.

The Gen 2 crew came together again back in Oasis Springs. They were celebrating Gianico & Johnny’s engagement.

Johnny’s younger brother Malcolm is a new member to the group, having recently aged up to a Young Adult too. The two Landgraab brothers are getting along a lot better these days.

Nalani isn’t very good at bowling, and neither were the others.

The Watcher doesn’t know why he stans Nancy & Geoffrey Landgraab so hard. He just does, okay?

This power couple were delighted to learn of their son’s recent engagement, though largely because it meant they would finally become a Played household and get to achieve Legacy Sim status.

“Sorry Nancy, darling. I’ll just be two minutes.”

Their dynamic fascinates the Watcher.

Since their move to Sulani, Dadi has been honing his craft as a musician, whilst Nalani thrives being back in the ocean again.

The vibes in Sulani are truly unmatched.

Gen 3 of the Kattan legacy is also officially on the way (and their arrival is pretty imminent too!)

Both Dadi and Nalani are simply overjoyed at their impending arrival.

The Gen 2 crew - the best bunch of friends, and their last time together as a group of childless Sims!

Joining them now is Greta Laurent, Malcolm’s new girlfriend. Nancy masterminded this matchup in her quest secure a link between the Landgraabs and yet another prestigious family dynasty (the Kattans being the first, of course.

On the eve of labour, Nalani met a dolphin named Blu.

They were both very excited to see each other, and Nalani took their meeting as a good omen for the birth of her baby.

Gen 3 has arrived!

Welcome to my legacy, little Delphin Kattan!

His name is Latin for dolphin, which seemed fitting following Nalani’s meeting with Blu the night before he was born.

Dadi & Nalani’s first night out since Delphin was born. They make a gorgeous couple, don’t they?

It’s a particularly special occasion tonight, too - Dadi’s Adult birthday!

Gianico & Johnny have barely been able to keep their hands off one another since their engagement at the Sulani waterfall.

It’s a wonder they found any time to plan the wedding at all - which is a mere matter of days away now.

The wedding party have now arrived at their luxurious Sulani rental, paid for in its entirety by Johnny’s family (a perk of marrying a Landgraab).

Gianico is spending some time with his soon to be mother-in-law. She’s been very nice to him - perhaps all the rumours about her aren’t true, after all?

The wedding of Gianico Kattan and Johnny Zest.

It was a small, private affair, due to their Watcher not having the patience for another big wedding just yet.

It was held at Dadi & Nalani’s home, with just their dearest present.

The vows, and their first kiss.

The first photo of the newly merged Kattan-Landgraab family.

Nancy is so looking so pleased to have wormed the Landgraabs into the Legacy - and she didn’t even have to do anything to make it happen! She’d never been so glad of her and Johnny’s reconciliation.

A more formal portrait of the group, too.

And just one final wedding shot of Uncle Gianico with little Delphin.

Even object babies have the right to attend the wedding of a loved one.

Gianico’s first morning as a married man involved rushing downstairs to put out a fire started by a pesky fire pit in their rental.

He looked pretty good doing it, though.

Gianico & Johnny are back at Kattan Manor after their honeymoon.

The cats missed them.

A fun new place called Plumbite Pier had just opened, so Johnny thought it’d be a great place to take Gianico to get over their post-honeymoon blues.

The Watcher was loving all the newly added selfie poses.

But of course, the real reason their Watcher had brought them to Plumbite Pier was so they could try out one of the new woohoo spots.

Gianico and Johnny officially joined the Silver Spinner’s Sky Club, though it seemed like they weren’t the first ones to do so.

After a perfect day at the pier, the pair headed into the lake for a quick cold water dip.

It was here that Johnny revealed to Gianico that they are going to become dads.

(In this Simverse, there are no limits on which Sims can carry a child).

Unfortunately, what should have been a joyous occasion soon turned into something truly quite awful.

Johnny received a video call from Nancy to let him know his father Geoffrey had passed.

It seemed the Watcher had mistakenly turned ageing on for all played households, not just the active one.

Gianico was there to console his new husband.

Geoffrey had always been a calming anchor in an otherwise chaotic family. Without him, Johnny doubted Nancy would have ever signed off on a reconciliation between him and the rest of the Landgraab family.

Johnny wondered how Nancy would now cope without him.

Gianico & Johnny’s visit to the lovely Plumbite Pier was persuasion enough for them to finally leave Kattan Manor behind.

It was time for them to find their own place in the world, and Copperdale seemed the perfect place to raise their child.

Plus, they’d heard the schools were good here…

The family photos they’d brought with them really helped to make the place feel like home.

And there were a lot of pictures in Kattan Manor to find new homes for!

Gianico & Johnny had their first taste of bubble tea!

They pulled some pretty intense faces throughout, but seemed to enjoy it.

After what appeared to be a bubble tea induced labour, we suddenly have a baby!

Welcome to the legacy, Dolly Kattan.

The first girl to be born into the legacy.

Don’t look at the Watcher like that, Gianico.

You knew fatherhood wasn’t going to be easy! And if you think an object baby is hard work, just you wait…

Both Gi and Johnny are now Adults, by the way.

This Legacy’s gameplay has been like a conveyor belt of weddings recently, but the last one of Gen 2 has finally taken place.

Congratulations, Malcolm Landgraab & Greta Laurent.

A little Landgraab heir is now on the way, too.

The Watcher had never permitted use of the Potion of Youth in the Simverse… until today.

He couldn’t let go of this queen just yet, not so soon after losing Geoffrey. He’d already become oddly attached to the Landgraabs.

Nancy, the Watcher has got you boo.

Nancy is very thankful for the extra days of life bestowed upon her.

Geoffrey’s ghost has slept beside Nancy every single night since his death.

The Watcher’s heart breaks a little more every time he sees it.

We’re back with Dadi and Nalani in the greatest place in the Simverse - Sulani.

Nalani is trying out a new hairstyle, and she is looking STUNNING.

Just a mermaid enjoying herself on the swing-set.

Gen 3 legacy heir, Delphin Kattan, has aged into a toddler.

The Sulani x Toddler era has begin.

Oh, and the Watcher didn’t realise being a mermaid was hereditary.

Delphin’s first time at the beach!

Nalani adores being a mum.

And she’s the best at being one, too.

It was Nalani’s birthday, so the gang went out to celebrate.

A swim in the ocean followed dinner, but the group quickly realised they had no chance of keeping speed with a mermaid.

The Watcher was obsessed with this shot of a gorgeous Nalani with the volcano in the background.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s just Nalani flying through the air.

Wait, mermaids can fly?

Delphin has THE coolest parents.

Its safe to say Dadi has never had any regrets about moving to Sulani.

Delphin is such a cutie.

After years of marriage, Nalani finally showed Dadi her mermaid power of song.

He couldn’t help but wonder why she’d hidden it from him all this time, for it could make him instantly inspired - a pretty handy thing for a musician like him!

The reality was of course that the Watcher didn’t realise this was a thing until now…

Little Dolly Zest-Kattan has just grown up, and she’s already the queen of facial expressions.

The Landgraab genes certainly seem to be strong in this one.

One evening, Nancy took Gianico to dinner to discuss Dolly’s future.

“She has huge potential, not like my other granddaughter. They may just be toddlers, but I know a Landgraab heir when I see one.”

“Umm, I don’t feel comfortable discussing such things without Johnny…”

“Shh, now. I need you onside. Johnny is determined to raise this child as a Zest, but I can’t have that.”

Gianico was at last starting to see the Nancy he’d always heard stories of…

Gianico was troubled after his talk with Nancy, and little Dolly could tell something was wrong.

“Sorry sweetheart, but we might need to keep your Grandma away from the house for a while.”

“But I wuvs Gwamma Nancy the mostest! Pwease no!”

Delphin and Dolly - the cutest cousins!

Seeing these two cousins together brought the Watcher back to when their dads were kids.

The nostalgia!

The Watcher was in shock. Apologies to all the Dadi & Nalani stans out there .

This has bubbling up for a while though, and it has to be said that Nancy was NOT the initiator, though she had no qualms in going ahead with it.

Context: Dadi was constantly rolling Wants to flirt with Nancy, & showed up outside her house ALL the time).

A flood of guilt swept through Dadi the moment he and Nancy emerged from the hot tub.

What in the Plum had he just done?

“Nalani, I’ve… done something terrible. I’m coming home now to tell you everything. I can only pray you’ll be able to forgive me for this one day.”

Nancy isn’t one to have loose ends though. She couldn’t have Dadi spilling on their little rendezvous. If it came out that she’d destroyed Johnny’s brother-in-law’s marriage, she’d never see little Dolly again.

(Yeah, the Watcher was feeling particularly chaotic that day… meh, Gianico was always the favourite anyway shrugs.)

Greta, Malcolm’s wife, came hurrying out shortly after Dadi was swallowed whole by the cowplant.

Nancy denied any involvement, of course.

“I’d no idea he was even on the lot. If only I was out here… I could’ve warned him to stay away from this damned thing.”

Malcolm soon returned from work, and was more abrupt in his approach with Nancy.

“Mum, who the Plum is in that urn?! Please tell me it’s just the maid.”

“Uhhh…”

“You promised the Watcher you’d behave when he gave you that Potion of Youth!”

Malcolm drew the short straw and had to be the one to return Dadi’s grave to Nalani the following day…

“So, uh, yeah. I’m dreadfully sorry about this. The Landgraabs send their regards. We’ll aim to keep the cowplant on a shorter leash going forwards…”

Nalani was in equal parts shocked and devastated.

She’d been waiting with great trepidation for Dadi to return home after his strange call to her the night before… and now this. What was she to think?

Nancy, on the other hand, didn’t seem to be taking Dadi’s death too hard. She really has adopted evil queen status at this point.

Side note: With any other Sim this would look playful, but with Nancy… it feels sinister.

It was soon little Betsy Landgraab’s birthday (the other grandchild), & Johnny sought to use the occasion to gather clues on what went down the night of Dadi’s demise.

“Do you remember much about that night, Betsy?”

“Well, Grandma told me not to talk about that… and she’s sat right next to me.”

Johnny also spoke with Greta, who was much more sympathetic as Nalani’s best friend.

“All I saw that night was Nancy hovering over Dadi’s freshly spawned urn. I didn’t even know he was visiting. He must’ve been out in the yard the whole time, I can’t imagine doing what…”

The morning of Dadi’s funeral arrived, & with it the first rain Sulani had seen all year.

Nalani was grief-stricken by the loss of her husband, yet also plagued by the call he’d made to her in the final hours before his suspicious and untimely death.

The funeral itself was a pretty sombre affair, though at least the rain cleared away.

Gianico & Johnny did their best to support Nalani.

Despite all the suspicions & unanswered questions, she’d still lost her husband & best friend.

With the funeral over, Nalani checked in on Delphin.

Legacy arrangements had been finalised that day too. Delphin would remain Heir, with Gianico & Nalani joint stewards of the family until his Young Adult birthday.

These things sorted, Nalani could focus on the job at hand - uncovering the truth behind what happened.

Nalani spent the following days combing through all she knew of Dadi’s death.

His call to her had come moments before a sudden cowplant devouring. There had to be a link. It was no coincidence this had happened at the Landgraab residence, where a certain freshly released cougar dwelled. It all began to become clear…

With things crystal clear to her now, Nalani invited Nancy over the next day.

She did so under a supposedly friendly guise. Nancy was too big-headed to suspect anything.

Then, she lured her into the ocean…

Nalani began to sing like only mermaids know how.

Nancy felt her throat close up. She wouldn’t be doing any talking.

“I may never know specifics of what you did with my husband, but if you EVER step foot near me or my son again, I will personally drag your saggy butt all the way to Grim myself.”

Nancy felt a sudden tug upon her feet, and a powerful force began to forcibly pull her beneath the water.

Her throat was sealed so tight that she couldn’t even scream.

Nalani felt immeasurable relief as she emerged from the ocean. Nancy would never bother her again.

She’d also find herself too scared to enter water again after today. Sadly for her, that would also include the hot tub where she enjoyed entertaining the husbands of other Sims.

It was just the two of them now.

(The Watcher started to feel ever so slightly bad at this point).

Delphin aged up!

The Gen 3 legacy heir is now an adorable child.

His first trait is Squeamish!

Growing up in Sulani is pretty chill, honestly.

If only mermaid kids (and toddlers) had tails.

Delphin just wants to swim around at pace like his mum does.

Mother and son are the best of friends.

They were already super close before Dadi’s death, but now their bond is even stronger than ever.

With some time now passed, Nalani has become rather friendly with her neighbour, Duane Talla.

He’s been a very good friend of her’s (and Dadi) since they moved to Sulani. He was their neighbour.

She deserves a second chance at happiness.

Oh my.

Gianico is aging like fine wine.

Pretty much the only screenshot the Watcher took of Dolly throughout her entire toddler years… woops.

But it’s a cute one of her and Elsie.

Oh, and there’s a second one too.

See - now the Watcher is spoiling you.

This picture feels so chaotic.

Hopple Borfna, Dolly Zest!

Photoshoot time! Here we have Gen 3 of the Kattan Legacy.

Delphin Kattan: Legacy Heir. Squeamish. Mermaid. Son of Dadi & Nalani.

Dolly Zest: Spare (twice-over). Genius. Of Landgraab blood. Daughter of Gianico & Johnny.

Bonus pic here of Gianico with his nephew and daughter.

Such wholesome content was needed after the dramatic events of this generation so far.

Remember how peaceful Gen 1 was?

The Watcher also put together a Kattan Legacy portrait gallery.

Whilst it took FOREVER (it required a few short-lived resurrections), it was so worth it to now have this record of all the key Kattan Legacy Sims.

Family fun time.

And yes, this triad have now moved to Oasis Springs.

Copperdale was really not the vibe - the lighting there was just awful.

You’ve got this, Dolly!

P.S. She’s a sitting image of her father, Johnny. Isn’t she?

P.P.S. can you spot Satan herself in the background?

“You can’t sit with us.”

The coolest kids!

Sixam Commander Delphin - Saviour of the Sim Galaxies and Defeater of Landgraabs!

Nancy‘s idea of babysitting her granddaughter (the other one).

“Okay Betsy, you stay seated at the bar and do your homework. I’ll be over there talking to that attractive man.”

Attractive man being one of Nancy’s many handsome lovers - Caleb Vatore (yes, the vampire.)

Widowhood has really treated her well, apparently.

Betsy is beginning to harbour a lot of resentment towards Dolly for the clear favouritism she receives from Nancy.

“Why does Grandma love you so much more than she loves me? You’re not even a real Landgraaab! You’re just a Zest.”

Following a (very!) unexpected pregnancy, Nalani and her new beau Duane decided to spontaneously elope to Tartosa one Tuesday morning.

They would tie the knot at the courthouse. Nalani had no interest in another grand wedding (neither did her Watcher).

They embarked on a little exploration of this beautiful town before they headed to the courthouse.

When they were walking in the maze, Nalani discovered Duane had the Mean trait.

She didn’t even know his third one yet… yeah, this has been a whirlwind romance.

A sudden wave of clarity hit Nalani as they arrived at the courthouse. She didn’t want to marry Duane… He was a lovely guy, but in truth she barely knew him.

The Want she’d rolled to marry had been premature. They’d been caught up in the unexpected news of the pregnancy…

“I’m so sorry Duane. It’s not that I don’t want to marry you specifically… I just realise now that I don’t want to marry anyone, not ever again. I married Dadi thinking he was the love of my life, & look how that ended up.”

“But, what does this mean for us?” asked Duane, grief spread across his face.

“I just want to be happy… You too, and this baby of ours. I don’t know exactly how that looks just yet, but for now… let’s just go home Duane.”

That evening, Nalani recounted the day’s events to Delphin.

“Let me get this straight. If you hadn’t called off this wedding at the last moment, you’d have gotten married today without even inviting your son?”

“I.. Delphin…”

“Just kidding, mum. I’m just glad you’re happy.”

Welcome, Merwyn! Delphin’s new half-brother. Son of Nalani & Duane, and sole sibling to the Kattan Gen 3 heir. He’s not technically in the bloodline though, so Dolly remains spare.

His name means ‘sea friend’ in Welsh. Will he be a mermaid like his mum & brother?

Growing up in Sulani be like:

“hey, you wanna go casually hang out by that stunning waterfall after school again?”

Delphin went snorkelling for the first time.

The Watcher realised soon after though, when he tried to get Nalani to join, that snorkelling is actually taboo amongst mermaids…

It seems Delphin won’t be doing this ever again, then!

Nalani decided to introduce Delphin to his namesake for the first time. Yes, its Blu again!

Delphin is nearly a teen now, which means his mermaid transformation is finally coming.

Umm, DADI NO.

Get your philandering ghost butt out of that bed.

Nalani has a new man now!

Dolly was having fun drawing on the restaurant placemat.

Despite her drawing skills, she’s actually quite the genius child!

There’s just something hysterical about Nancy doing karaoke.

A rare bonding moment between her and Johnny.

The pair’s relationship has been pretty frayed since what went down with Dadi (although nothing was ever proven), and her continued interference in Dolly’s upbringing.

The Watcher doesn’t blame you, Johnny.

Gianico is in the best shape he’s ever been in.

One last shot of Gen 3 as kids before they all begin aging up.

Alongside Delphin, Dolly & Betsy are the Kudo sisters - Akira & Ichika. They are Gen 2 of the family that finally got the Watcher hooked on TS4 when Snowy Escape came out. Introducing them here for… reasons.

Nancy’s expression here…

She’s been paying several visits to the doctor in her desperate attempt to retain her youth, so you may notice some ongoing changes to her face.

P.S. if you’re a Sul Sul fan, you’ll know how Nancy loves the dumpster.

Say what you will about Nancy, there’s no denying she really does love her granddaughter (this one at least).

The first of the Gen 3 crew has aged up into a teen - Betsy Landgraab.

She’s an unlikely Landgraab heir, being a Goofball and Creative.

She’s definitely inherited a mix of both her parents’ features (Malcolm Landgraab and Greta Laurent)!

I suppose its time for her to get a bit more attention…

Today is Delphin’s final day of grade school, with his birthday party due to happen that evening.

Nalani spent the morning reminiscing about her son’s childhood years, but also looking forward to how he’d soon be able to finally adopt his true mermaid form.

“What do you mean, Dolly? Of course we’re going to remain BFFs! It’ll only be a week until you age up, too!”

These two are true besties.

It’s always so nerve-racking when a legacy kid ages up, so the Watcher is very relieved.

What a handsome guy!

Delphin Kattan: Gen 3 heir. Squeamish. Good. Mermaid. Son of Dadi and Nalani.

Delphin’s first day of high school….

Don’t worry, Nalani arrived just in time (in her sleepwear) to plead for his life.

His newly obtained Hydration need was low, so naturally he went to the outdoor pool in the dead of winter. He’ll get used to being a mermaid, eventually.

Finally, mother and son can swim together as mermaids.

This is a very proud moment for Nalani, & a very exciting one for Delphin.

Brothers.

The Watcher really ought to start giving a bit more screen time to little Merywn (spoiler, he doesn’t).

So Delphin already has a bit of a romantic dilemma.

He’s developed a crush on a girl from school, Padma Ramaswami, but he’s also become somewhat attracted to his childhood friend Betsy Landgraab…

Question - Is it weird if he dates his cousin’s cousin?!

(Probably, yes).

He went with the less complicated option.

Its probably best to keep this Legacy’s now two heirs separate for now.

Anyway, Delphin’s first ever date with Padma went… well.

Gianico is not ready for his little girl to age up already (and neither is the Watcher!).

But it’s about to happen, regardless.

Well, here she is. Johnny Ze-, I mean…Dolly Zest, as a teenager. Gosh, they really do look alike.

Dolly remains the Kattan Legacy’s Gen 3 spare, and she adds the Romantic trait to her previously held Genius trait.

This… doesn’t seem safe (or sanitary).

Get down from there, Teddy and Elsie!

Nalani will always be THE moment.

Forever and always.

Gianico is not to be messed with, apparently.

He’s nearly at the top of the Military career these days.

For the sake of completeness, because I never talk about my Sims’ careers, Johnny is also nearly at the top of the Comedian career.

What is that you see, Gianico?

A… a… a dinosaur?! Surely not!

To be fair, there are crazier things in this game.

Gianico and Johnny have come on a romantic getaway to Mt Komorebi.

It’s their first vacation alone together since Dolly was born, and this may be hard to believe… but they are actually *very* close to becoming elders.

The lovely boys on the slopes.

Fun fact: Gianico came snowboarding in Mt Komorebi a lot as a teenager.

Look how he’s matured over the years!

The true Gen 2 heir, honestly. Huh? Wait, who just said that?

Meanwhile… Nancy has invited her other son Malcolm on an important errand.

“Mummy, why did you bring us here? Whose grave is this… and why is it open?”

“It is mine. Unfortunately the Watcher refuses me a third dose of the Potion of Youth, so my days are numbered.”

“Listen, Malcolm. You’ve been the perfect heir to me. Evil. Selfish. Willing to cover up my many crimes. That daughter of yours on the other hand…”

“Betsy.”

“She’s no Landgraab heir. We both know she can’t be the one to take over the mantle once you’re gone too.”

“…Only one of my granddaughters is worthy of the Landgraab name, and it’s not Betsy.”

ominous music begins playing in the background

When Betsy returned from school later that day, she happened upon an open book upon her desk… odd.

Inside was a message, sprawled in fresh ink:

“Betsy. Below is an address. Please, go here, then follow the dirt trail. You deserve the chance to prove yourself.”

Betsy was a very curious sim, and so she simply had to find out what this message was all about. She slipped out of the house and went to the address.

From there she followed the dirt trail, and ended up….. here.

Betsy swore she could hear voices whispering her name from somewhere within the archway. They were telling her to step forward. She couldn’t stop herself…

Umm… where was she now?!

(yes, the Watcher had just bought the Realm of Magic pack).

Betsy found herself wandering the halls of a large building not far from the portal she had emerged from. Everything was so very strange here…

“Ah, you must be the Landgraab girl. We’ve been expecting you.”

Betsy startled. She hadn’t realised she was being watched.

Betsy gulped.

“Yes, I’m…”

“Dolly. Yes, yes. I know your name. Your grandmother said you’d be arriving soon.”

“No, you’ve got it wrong…” began Betsy, but the woman was no longer listening.

“Let’s get on with it then. There’s no time like the present.”

Betsy felt utterly exhausted the following morning when she awoke to the sound of her alarm. What the plum had happened last night?

She barely even remembered how she had made it home…

Betsy’s mind was far from her studies that day. Her head felt like it might explode, and the strangest sensation pulsated throughout her body.

It was as if something was bubbling up within her, culminating in a tingling feeling at the tips of her fingers…

“It’s nice to finally see another of our kind in this school.”

Betsy glanced up to see a face she didn’t recognise. She hadn’t even noticed class end.

“Don’t worry. It’ll be rough for a few days, but then the fun begins. I’m Gemma Charm by the way. Consider me a friendly face.”

Betsy hoped to tell Dolly everything at lunch, but her cousin had news of her own.

“Grandma Nancy sent me the weirdest text this morning. I’m to go to this address and follow a dirt trail. Odd, right? Something to do with fulfilling my Landgraab destiny.”

Betsy suddenly felt queasy.

Betsy had a lot of thinking to do that evening.

It was clear something within her had changed, and that whatever it was had been meant for Dolly instead.

Yet someone had intervened… and Betsy was sure Nancy wouldn’t be pleased when she found out.

Betsy didn’t have to wait long to find out, though.

A flash of light suddenly burst before her.

“Well, well, well. Is there something you wish to tell your Grandma Nancy?”

(Yes, evil Nancy is now evil witch Nancy. Sorry not sorry.)

Betsy didn’t know what to say, so it was Nancy who spoke again.

“Rise, my child.”

Betsy reluctantly did as she was asked, and before she knew it a bright light came hurtling towards her.

“Ah, now that’s better. If you’re going to be in the Landgraab coven, you ought to at least look the part.”

Betsy opened her eyes and peered down at herself. An enormous sigh of relief followed. She thought she was about to become a pile of ashes.

“I…. I thought you were going to… wait, did you just say the Landgraab coven?”

The pair sat for a long overdue chat.

“So you’re not mad at me, Grandma?”

“Look. I’ll admit I didn’t intend for you to join the Coven. I think you far too weak-minded for the art of witchery, and so I named Dolly my heir. Yet fate has now given you the chance to prove me wrong.”

“A good heart isn’t the same as a weak mind, Grandma.”

“It is to me. Yet as I say, now is the time to prove me wrong. It’s not going to be easy, for you or Dolly. I expect greatness of my Coven, and I won’t hesitate to expel those who disappoint me.”

“I wont let you down.”

“By the way Grandma, who was it that left the note leading me to the Magic Realm?”

Nancy’s face soured.

“That would be your father, Malcolm. He thought to try forcing my hands regarding the future of this legacy. You won’t be seeing him for a little while, Betsy.”

So, here are the Landgraab Witches. A new twist in the Legacy story, but a fun one - I hope!

Which one of Nancy’s granddaughters will follow in her footsteps and rise as the next Supreme/Landgraab heir?

Betsy threw herself into her witch training after that, determined to prove Nancy wrong.

She was most grateful to her new friend Gemma Charm for the hours spent practicing with her.

It seemed Betsy was quite the natural at being a witch, actually.

It came as quite the surprise to both grandmother and granddaughter.

Betsy and Gemma’s friendship blossomed outside of their witch training too.

Betsy had never had a close confidant before. At least not one who was yet to be caught up in the drama of her family.

Betsy got overconfident, trying spells she wasn’t ready for yet. Woops.

She honestly kinda slays this charred hair look though.

Back in Sulani, word had reached Nalani of her arch-nemesis Nancy in-fact being a witch at the head of her own coven.

“I knew I should’ve finished her off when I had the chance,” muttered Nalani to herself, as she tried to block out any thought of that evil woman.

Don’t worry Nalani, the Watcher has your back always.

Delphin received some bad news at school one day, when he spotted Padma’s sister & asked where it was she’d been all week.

“Oh, she didn’t tell you? She aged up! Come to think of it, I guess you weren’t at the birthday party.. don’t look too sad about it, didn’t you only go on that one date?”

Ouch…

Nalani tried explaining to Delphin that Padma ghosting him was not the end of the world.

“Look hunny, all I’m saying is you’ve got your whole life ahead of you. They’ll be plenty of Sims who’d love to date a wonderful, kind and handsome legacy heir like you.”

Truer words have never been spoken, Nalani.

Delphin’s little brother, Merwyn (yeah, remember him?), has aged up.

His favourite pastime is chasing low poly seagulls in Sulani.

I don’t judge (at least, not openly).

One for the photo album!

I loved this picture, until I noticed Merwyn’s floating arm behind Delphin’s head.

“Quick, let’s take a friendship group photo before class starts. It’s for Social Bunny!”

Delphin, Betsy and Dolly in the front row (of course). In the back are the previously mentioned Kudo sisters Ichika and Akira, and then finally Gemma Charm.

Delphin gets SO shy around Ichika, despite being childhood friends.

“So, I heard things didn’t work out between you and Padma…”

“Yeah, she ended things. Well, kinda. Her sister actually did it on her behalf…”

“That’s a shame. I mean, not really… she wasn’t right for you.”

Delphin seized upon the moment and asked Ichika if she wanted to hang out after school. It had never been just the two of them before…

*hehehe Watcher… help me out here, this ‘dating but not really dating’ business is pretty hard!*

A friendly game of ping pong did wonders to calm Delphin’s nerves.

These two are so cute together.

A scary movie followed, although Delphin worried that it wasn’t to Ichika’s taste.

“I’m sorry,” whispered Delphin, “I didn’t realise this film would consist of so many cowplant deaths.”

“Oh no. This is just my kind of thing. I find it truly fascinating…”

Probably not the best thing to admit to Delphin of all people, Ichika…

The evening was a success!

Although Delphin isn’t actually sure whether this counted as a date or not… was it simply two good friends hanging out?

Did Gianico and Delphin just start re-enacting a scene from Baywatch?

What a spin-off this would be!

Well, it seems showing off your mermaid tail is one way to get the girl to like you.

These two lovebirds finally went on their first official date together.

There was no awkwardness in sight this time.

“I really, really like you,” said Delphin, taking Ichika’s hands in his.

“I really like you too, Delph. Now, how about we get out of here…”

“Oh wow… I’d love to…”

“No, not that! I mean before we’re killed by the pyroclastic flow that’s about to erupt from this volcano.”

The Watcher is a wreck right now.

His beloved Gianico and Johnny are very nearly about to age into elders.

They will surely be a pair of silver foxes, though.

They truly are soulmates.

Johnico forever!

A trio of high school witches on their lunchbreak.

“Nancy wants us to meet an old friend of her’s after school today,” said Gemma.

“Our new tutor,” sighed Dolly. “Not tonight though. It’s my dads’ joint birthday party.”

“But Nancy…”

“You should come along!” added Betsy. “There’ll be cake!”

Gemma accepted the birthday invitation, and was first to arrive.

“Hopple Borfna, Mr Kattan!”

“No need for such formalities,” said Gianico. “I already feel old enough these days. I can’t believe the Watcher is actually letting me age into an elder.”

(Gen 2 really did suffer from the short lifespan that was still being played with at this time. It’s salt in the wound that it got increased dramatically not long afterwards…)

Gianico and Johnny’s joint birthday celebrations are well underway.

Delphin seems to be enjoying himself the most though.

“Cake and pizza at the same time? This is my kind of party!”

Meanwhile, Dolly and Gemma found themselves chatting outside again.

“Your dad is super nice, by the way.”

“Oh, don’t tell me you’re yet another Gianico fangirl?”

“Huh? No. NO! Not like that. He’s *definitely* not my type…”

Dolly and Gemma decided to take a break from the party to have a friendly magic duel outside.

The Watcher was obsessed with the fact Nalani was just pretending she didn’t see anything as she took the rubbish out.

It’s honestly better for her own peace of mind to simply act as if Nancy’s Coven doesn’t exist.

Dolly was triumphant!

The Landgraabs must have really strong magic in their veins, because Gemma can NEVER catch a break in these duels.

A rose for the winner.

“Umm, I… okay, thanks? Did the Watcher make you give this to me?” asked Dolly.

“No… I did it autonomously.”

Ooh la la. Though how will Betsy feel about her new best friend now falling for her cousin?

The big elder reveal!

At the end of the party, Gianico and Johnny took one good look at another.

“Well…?” asked Gianico sheepishly.

“I’ve never wanted to woohoo you more than I do right now.”

Such handsome older gentlemen they are! The Watcher loves them even more now.

Gianico just gets better and better with age.

And yes, he’ll have his chest out until the bitter end.

As per Nancy’s instruction, the three young witches of the coven travelled to meet one of her old acquaintances the day after the party.

The person lived in a remote villa in Tartosa, and would apparently become the girls’ new tutor in the art of magic.

A nervousness to enter the villa suddenly overwhelmed Betsy and Gemma, so Dolly took the lead.

The front door swung open as she approached it, as if by… magic.

Dolly walked through the house and found herself in a rear courtyard. She was no longer alone.

“Welcome, Ms Landgraab. I’m Daisy Chain, and it seems I’ll be your new magic godmother. Your grandmother and I… well, we go a long way back.”

Queen Daisy has entered the Legacy save.

(Daisy is from The Sul Sul Story - a slightly reimagined version of that lore applies in this story too.)

Dolly is shaping up to be Daisy’s favourite student at the Tartosa School for Witches.

The others are so easily distracted!

C’mon Betsy. You’re meant to be proving yourself!

A couple of weeks after Gemma had given her a rose, Dolly returned the favour.

It seems the attraction is mutual, after all.

Where could be more magical for a first kiss than the magic realm?

Choosing to ignore Dolly’s creepy familiar hovering over her shoulder…

Perhaps Dolly shouldn’t have challenged her powerful grandmother to a duel, but does Nancy really have to be so smug about winning?

Kitty cuddles!

Although it looks like Teddy saw something he didn’t want to see…

Nalani has aged up beautifully, but whose surprised?

She is the true queen of this Legacy (not sorry, Nancy).

Nalani signed up for an Odd Job (this is how she has always learnt money as a single parent with a hectic schedule), where she needed to clean up the beach by ‘digging for trash’.

She went STRAIGHT to the grave of her philandering ex-husband Dadi and started digging there.

The Watcher has to stan such iconic behaviour.

For one time only (by order of the Watcher before Gen 3 officially kicks off with Delphin), the entire Kattan-Landgraab family agreed to get together for one very tense picture.

It pretty perfectly sums up the long standing rivalry between the two matriarchs Nalani & Nancy.

Nancy also demanded her own private photoshoot.

She wanted some new pictures for her Simder profile, it seems.

Nancy has a new favourite spell - Morphiate.

This poor townie didn’t see it coming, and the Watcher has no idea if she’ll even turn back into a Sim again.

He doesn’t care, either. It was hilarious to watch!

Betsy Landgraab’s last day of school.

She was feeling particularly emotional about it, and even tried to hug the principal (who reluctantly accepted).

This was Betsy’s face when she found out she’s going to be moving in with Nancy to her San Myshuno townhouse.

She’s a Young Adult now, and will be finishing off her spellcaster training there, whilst also getting a job now that she’s finished school.

And yes, if it wasn’t clear already, from now on there will be two heirs in this newly renamed Kattan-Landgraab Legacy. A Kattan heir and a Landgraab heir, and we’ll be following both.

Of course Nancy has her reasons for inviting Betsy to come and live with her though.

She needs help to finally master and create the Potion of Immortality - the one thing she wants above anything else.

Seeing as the Watcher refuses to grant her any more Potions of Youth, she has decided to take matters into her own hands.

Betsy was just incredibly excited to immerse herself in the hustle and bustle of city life, even if it meant being under the thumb of Nancy.

She found her surroundings to be a great source of inspiration for her creative outlets.

She also marked the change with a new haircut and style. It feels good to rebel against Nancy, even in small ways such as this.

Back in Sulani, Delphin has also just aged up to a young adult.

The Watcher can’t believe he was once so small… oh my gosh.

But yes - this means Gen 3 of the Kattan-Landgraab Legacy has officially commenced!
